Chipotle Pepper Sauce

Chipotle pepper sauce is made using a combination of chipotle or smoke-dried jalapeno peppers, garlic, tomatoes, and spices. Chipotle pepper sauce is used widely in Mexican cuisines and other related cuisines. It has medium heat level (Scoville rating -1500-2500 units) and is ideal to be used as a topping for tacos, salad wraps, etc. you can marinate your chicken breasts with chipotle pepper sauce to give it a smoky sizzle. Adding chipotle pepper sauce and mayonnaise to your breakfast or desserts can make it taste awesome.

You can make this sauce at home by following this recipe.

Step 1: Roast two tomatoes till the skin turns black and peel them

Step 2: Blend the roasted and peeled tomatoes +chipotles (as per your taste preference, may be 2 or more) + water (1/2 cup) in a food processor/ blender  

Step 3: Transfer the mixture into a pan and heat (if it is too watery) till the sauce thickens

Step 4: Pour the sauce into a clean container and refrigerate.
