Why go shopping for Jalapeno Hot Pepper Sauce, when you can prepare it by your own. It just takes few minutes to make the organic Jalapeno Hot Pepper Sauce in your kitchen. All you need is
- Vegetable oil (preferably olive oil) - 1 tsp.
- Sliced Jalapeno peppers (fresh) – 20-25
- Minced onion – ½ cup
- Water – 2 cups
- Distilled white vinegar – 1 cup
- Minced garlic cloves – 3
- Salt – ¾ Tsp.
Take a thick bottomed non-reactive saucepan and mix oil, onion, garlic, jalapeno peppers and salt (do this over high flame). Sauté for a few minutes (may be 4-5 minutes). By this time the peppers color would have changed slightly, now add 2 cups of water to the mixture and cook for about twenty minutes, stirring occasionally.
Transfer the contents into a bowl and allow it to cool to room temperature. After it, the mixture cools down; puree it in a food processor or a blender. Slowly add the vinegar while the food processor/blender is still running. You also add the vinegar at the end and rerun the processor/blender for a minute or two, and there you are! You can store the sauce in a clean airtight container. It has a shelf life of around six months if you refrigerate it.
